Halfwerk secures funding

We are happy to announce that both the Flemish and Brussels Region have committed to co-finance the development of an ecosystem around the reuse of sheetmetal. The funding will allow a considerable acceleration of Halfwerk’s activities and the creation of critical tools and long term partnerships. Our targets include the establishment of a network of suppliers of salvaged steel, the realisation of pilot projects in the B2B market, further technical development, and the upscaling of our production capacities trough strategic collaborations with relevant local companies.

We are proud to say that Halfwerk is one of very few companies that succeeded in convincing both the Flemish and Brussels Region to cofinance a project, as economic and environmental competences are managed strictly on a regional basis. We are convinced that the reuse of (sheet)metal requires infrastructures and networks accros regional boundaries. The north of Brussels and the periphery, and more particularly the areas along the canal, already hosts most of the scrap processing and recycling actors. This makes it the ideal breeding ground for new activities around the reuse of steel. Halfwerk aims to become a central pivot in this new circular trade, trough the manufacturing of objects with high added value such as furniture and lighting for the B2B market.
